The Texas 4H Youth Development Foundation Opportunity Scholarship Program, a proud tradition of the Texas 4H Program started over 40 years ago, a tradition carried on to this day. In 1959 at the Texas 4H Roundup, the Texas 4H Foundation presented its first opportunity scholarship, a $1,000 award made possible by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. During the past 40+ years, the opportunity scholarship program has experienced tremendous growth thanks to the generous support and concern of organizations and individuals. These organizations and individuals believe in the Texas 4H Program and, more importantly, they believe in the need to provide dedicated, hard-working Texas 4H members with an opportunity to pursue their dream of obtaining an advanced degree and distinguishing themselves in productive career that will provide benefits to society.

To qualify for this scholarship you must be an active member of a Texas 4H during the previous year, a Texas resident and a graduate of a Texas High School (public, private, home school, etc.).  You must also show proof of  having been accepted and enrolled at a Texas College or University for the current year.  For more information, visit the 4-H website.
